Who We Are

The Short Version

Caribbean Street Food, Cooked Over Pimento Wood.

Baba Jerk is a family-run Caribbean street-food kitchen founded by Wesley & Tania Reid in Hackney in 2018, now based in Aberystwyth and run by Shapsy and her team. We cook from a converted 2008 Mercedes Sprinter Van with outdoor kitchen, market stall, and mobile kitchen capability.

Our menu draws from the wider Caribbean diaspora - Jamaica, Guyana, Trinidad, Barbados, and others - not just one island. We feed weddings, corporate events, festivals, supper clubs and the occasional Aberystwyth back garden. Everything is made in-house, slow-cooked, and unapologetically full-flavour.

We're available for interviews, features, photo shoots, festival bookings and recipe development.
